Privacy Policy

Trend ยท Last updated 16 October 2026

Trend is a macOS app made by James Callaghan ("we"). This policy explains what information Trend handles and what happens to it. In short: Trend runs on your Mac, has no server of its own, and does not collect, sell or share your information with us or anyone else.

Information Trend handles

Your media and settings

The songs, screen recordings, selfie clips, captions and videos you use in Trend stay on your Mac. Trend stores its library (file locations, tempos, start points, captions and an export history) in a file in your user Library folder. None of this is sent to us.

Connected accounts

When you connect TikTok, YouTube or Instagram, you sign in on that platform's own website, and the platform gives Trend an access token. Trend stores these tokens only in the macOS Keychain on your Mac and uses them only to do what you ask:

Trend doesn't read your other videos, followers, messages or analytics, and doesn't post anything you haven't chosen to post.

Where your information goes

Videos and their captions are sent directly from your Mac to the platform you're posting to, and only when you choose to post. Each platform's handling of that content is covered by its own policies: TikTok Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy, Meta Privacy Policy.

Trend has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and we never receive your tokens, videos or account information.

Google and YouTube

Trend uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Trend's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access and deleting data

Children

Trend isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly handle their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
